Comments about Light & Motion Vega 200 LED Bike Light:
While this light IS bright, the run time was shorter than spec from day one and it deteriorated from there. After 20 cycles, it was very poor. After about 40 cycles, it wouldn't take a charge at all. It's a sealed unit, so I would have to send it to the factory to have the battery changed. No way! I'm not giving Light and Motion any more money.

Comments about Light & Motion Vega 200 LED Bike Light:
I wiped out and broke my old Vega 80 lumen ( had it for 3 years ) This new Vega 200 is awesome! It charges super fast and it does last at least 2 hours on the high setting. I ride around White Rock lake evenings/night on a regular bases. This baby shoots out a bright beam that easily lights up the width of the trail/street lane and forward about 15-20 feet. Way better than my old Vega ( R.I.P ).
It's worth the price. You get a powerful light with multiple settings, a fast charger that allows you leave it plugged in 24/7, and a simple mounting strap that goes from bar to helmet with ease. I does look a little strange with the wide, boxy design, and the radiator looking fins up front, but once it's on and you're chasing raccoons and possum, you forget all about it.

Comments about Light & Motion Vega 200 LED Bike Light:
I've been using my unit for about 2 months now, and have found it to be very bright with an excellent beam pattern. During the darker stretches of my commute, I no longer worry about being unable to spot obstacles in time to avoid them.
The unit is fully self contained (no wires or external battery), and has the tool-free mount affixed, which allows for very quick and convenient removal upon arrival at my destination. Total weight is only 240g (0.53 lb), which is small enough (in my opinion) to be unnoticeable to a commuter.
To date, I have not experienced any discrepancies with the advertised runtime, nor any sign of battery deterioration.
My only real complaint is that the unit ships with only a (minimal) Quick Start guide, which directs you to download the full manual from the Light & Motion (L&M) website... a document which does not currently exist (as of 15 April, 2009). This is largely alleviated by the fact that the light isn't particularly complex, and L&M is quite helpful and responsive to questions provided that you contact them by telephone.
Don't even bother with the Contact Us page on the L&M website, however... it appears to be little more than a virtual black hole, from which no inquiry can ever escape.
