by fromSharp looking, not warm as outer layer Jacket is nice looking, Medium is too snug. I am 5' 10" and 158 lbs. Considerably lighter in weight than TNF RedPoint and OR NeoPlume. I have both of the latter jackets in Medium and they fit great and also find them considerably warmer and feel more rugged. Unless you need the light weight and nice look I'd consider the Neoplume.

by fromGreat for cycling I bought this to replace my old Mountain Hardware softshell. This thing is so far and away better than any jacket I've ever had. My only caveat is that on very cold days (25 or below) or very wet days it's not enough on it's own, but with a rain jacket on over it, it really doesn't get any better than this thing. I spend a lot of time on my bike, and on windy winter days it's hard to find something that can stand up to the infamous Chicago headwinds, but I'll never need to look further than this jacket. I would highly recommend if you spend a lot of time outside.

by fromKeeps warm in a range of temperatures Used this jacket in a range of temperatures from around 20degC on its own, to -1degC with base-layer and another mid-layer jacket (while passive; not engaging in any activities) and it kept me warm but not hot. And the great thing is that it packs small (just stuff the entire jacket into one of its sleeves) and is almost weightless! Love the fit too (it's not baggy). Only con is that that hand warmer pocket zippers get stuck at times because the material is so soft.

by fromFantastic Mid-Layer/Light Outer Wear Jacket I purchased the Atom jacket in black about a year ago. It has seen heavy use hiking, cross country skiing, traveling. Have used it as a mid layer in very cod conditions and outer jacket in light rain and moderate temperatures. It has held up well and still looks good enough to wear around town. Jacket was comfortable in a wide range of temperatures and conditions. Packs very small so it is easy to take along. I have now purchased the hoodie version as well. We consider it a 'must have' for our outdoor and travel.

by fromAwesome!!! Arc'teryx makes an awesome product!!! Very cool looking, Excellent quality. Not sure how warm it would be in extreme conditions because it is so light. I will be using it instead of a heavy Fleece pullover. May be suitable for an insulating layer as well. I am so pleased with this jacket that I have ordered other Arc'teryx products and will continue to do so.

by fromStyle + Great Materials Bought this at the Sacramento REI at a great sale price. I was sold as soon as I tried it on; this is an incredibly light jacket that is also quite warm. Materials and craftsmanship are outstanding too. It's intended to be a 2nd layer piece, but I plan to use it as a standalone cool weather jacket this Fall/Winter.

by fromTop of the Line!!!!!!!!!!! The best synthetic mid-layer jacket yet. Ac'teryx makes some of the best products and this is one of them. I have used this jacket for about a year and it works well as a mid layer in very cold conditions, and does well as an outerlayer for mid conditions. It is very breathable and can be used for all aerobic activities. It is also very warm considering its amazing weight. No doubt the best synthetic jacket I have ever owned!! I would recommend it to anyone who likes being outdoors when it is cold.

by fromGreat jacket! I'm 5'10", 160lb and 38R: the medium works great. Since I use this as a 2nd layer, I love the fit. Not TOO snug...takes the place of a fleece sweatshirt. I like to couple this jacket with the REI Taku. With a thermal base layer, the Atom and Taku, I'm good to go for winter activities. I can't believe how LIGHT the Atom is!
