Comments about Leatherman Freestyle Multitool:
I bought this knife to take surf fishing, I needed something to help remove hooks, cut bait, etc. I liked the idea behind having a very utilitarian, minimalist type tool that I wouldn't have to worry about dropping in the sand or getting salt water on and I figured this knife was up to the task. The grip just didn't work for me, it was too narrow and the pointed ends dig into your palms so you can't really apply pressure using the pliers. Might be a good fit for smaller hands though. I traded it in for a wingman, which is about the same price and much more comfortable.

Comments about Leatherman Freestyle Multitool:
For the price i paid i thought there would
have been a screwdriver added, and a
little knob on the side of the knife blade
would make it safer and easier to use.

Comments about Leatherman Freestyle Multitool:
I've carried a leatherman for over 10 years and long ago realized that i mostly used just the blade and pliers, so when i started shopping for a pocket lockblade and saw these, i was thrilled.
The things i like about this tool are many, but probably boring to list completely. The size and shape are good, the blade performs well and has been durable so far. An important detail is that the blade design tends to keep the pivot from getting stuff in it, good if you cut food. It makes a pretty good bottle opener, too! I have used it almost every single day that i've owned it (partly due to the bottle opener thing!).
It's not quite perfect though. First of all, i'm pretty sure it's impossible to open one-handed if you're a lefty. Second, there are two small holes in the blade which get packed with any food you're cutting very easily, and are very difficult to clean out. Third, the thickness of the handle definitely compromises blade control. This won't bother most folks, but if you want to sharpen a stick for marshmallows or make shavings for tinder, you'll see what i mean. This might matter less for those with larger hands. Finally, the way it hangs from the clip in your pocket seems upside-down. When you grab it, you have to give it a half-turn before you can open it. Also, if your pants are too loose it sometimes wants to turn sideways inside your pocket.

Comments about Leatherman Freestyle Multitool:
Nice design and light. I've carried the same Leatherman tool since 1988. That one didn't lock, so I finally decided to get a lighter, locking Leatherman. It has a good knife, but the very first time I used the pliers to bend a wire as thick as a coathanger, they snapped in half. I'm sending it in for warranty, but what a hassle. I hope it was an isolated incident.

Comments about Leatherman Freestyle Multitool:
I've had this multi-tool for a few months now and I can say that I'm very pleased with it. I find myself opting to carry this over my Leatherman Charge due to its smaller size and that it has the tools I only really ever use on a multi-tool which are the plyers and the blade. My only complaint about the Freestyle is that it can get uncomfortable during long periods of use but other than that I believe that this was a great buy!

Comments about Leatherman Freestyle Multitool:
This was a Father's Day gift from my wife. I use the freestyle primarily at work. Most times that I use the knife, I need to cut something fast. Rope, tape, and wire are just a few of the things. Also great for a light pack knife to take out when you're getting a line wet. The pocket clip is perfect for easy access. The freestyle isnt bulky like other folding knives. Plus the availability of pliers doesnt go unnoticed. The con is sharpening the serrated part of the blade.
