Comments about Outdoor Research Alti Mittens:
Well worth the retail price. The Alti Mitts are probably the best insurance policy you could buy to make sure you keep all your fingers at altitude. Though not as light as a down mitten the peace of mind and security afforded by the Primaloft synthetic fill is worth the few extra ounces. The dual pull cinch cuff is easy to operate and the leather palms are super durable. Viesturs has been using these for years above 8000m. My experience on Denali and other Alaskan peaks has been nothing but positive - warm and reliable. If you don't want to worry about your hands being warm in the worst conditions the Alti Mitt is the answer.

Comments about Outdoor Research Alti Mittens:
I have had a pair of these for two seasons now and they are exceptionally warm. The fact that they can be separated makes it so you can dry them out quickly. I highly recommend these if you have cold hands when outside.

Comments about Outdoor Research Alti Mittens:
Ever winter without fail I complain about cold hands and go in search of new gloves or mittens. I need hand protection in the cold winter months for activities ranging from dog walking to hiking Mt. Washington. Thankfully my search is now over. I was pleasantly pleased with the overall fit and durability of this mitten. The waterproof shells have fleece on the palms and insulation on the backs and the removable liners have a loft filling. The leather palms allow me to grip anything from ski poles to the scraper to clean off my car. These pack down nicely for descents and can withstand bitter cold, wind, and mixed perception. I would like if the mittens were a little sleeker when on but am willing to sacrifice that for warmth.

Comments about Outdoor Research Alti Mittens:
Nice two piece combination for winter climbing, you still have enough feel to belay and you can easily slip the outer shell off and keep the liner on if you need to do something a little more complicated. I have been very happy with them so far.
