    I bought this for my 5 year old kid to wear as a first layer (underneath vest or down jacket) during the cold interior Alaska winters. It's done nicely during the now 30 degree days. The fleece is very, very soft. The collar comes up to chin length to keep his neck warm. So far the fleece has not pilled or looked worn. I'd highly recommend.
