Good for backpacking in rain or snow

      Comments about REI Shuksan Pants with eVent Fabric - Men's 32" Inseam:

      Took these on a 3-night trip to the Porcupine Mountains in Michigan. Got snowed on, no rain yet. Temps near 30-40F. Wore them over synthetic long underwear. Pockets work well to hold camera, maps, bandana, etc. 32-inch inseam is sufficient to hang over boot tops by 2 inches, so gaiters are not needed in ordinary rain (I wear a 35-1/4-inch pant inseam, so I was surprised). Legs fit well over 3 layers of heavy long underwear for evening camp wear. Pack hipbelt fits smoothly over waist, velcro waist tighteners are a nice feature. A good design, perhaps justifying the extra weight.
