Comments about Necky Looksha 12 Kayak:

I got out of whitewater kayaking and sold my Dagger Medeival and bought this kayak. First off, it's quite a bit more stable than a whitewater playboat. On the other hand it's a lot less manuverable. This kayak has a fairly wide turning radius compare to spinning on a dime like I was used to. Overall I love the Looksha. It's a great day tripper. It rides high in the water, even loaded, and is quite stable. It tracks very straight and glides pretty easily. It's a pretty quick boat and doesn't need a lot of effort to get moving. The only drawback I've found are the storage hatches. The openings have a fabric cover (appears to be polypropelene? maybe neoprene but it's awfully flexible) and a separate plastic hatch that goes over the fabric. They seem to seal pretty tightly but the fabric isn't attached to anything and I'm pretty sure the closure would no longer be watertight if you lost it. I'll have to be carefuly no to misplace or lose the hatch seals.
