Comments about Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100 Sit-On-Top Kayak:
This boat is the perfect choice for recreational or novice paddlers, especially on lakes or flatwater rivers. I was originally looking at an Ocean Kayak, but Wilderness System's boats have much better features for the money. I demoed both the 12-foot and 10-foot Tarpons, and although the 12-footer tracked slightly better, there was not enough difference to justify spending $200 more. One of its best features is that any water that enters the seat area goes into a well behind and under the seat, keeping your backside dry. The seat is very supportive, comfortable and fully adjustable. The adjustable foot rests are much more comfortable than the molded slots that come on many boats. I can get this boat on and off the top of my car by myself, and I'm a middle-aged female. The hatches are easy to access and very roomy. Great little boat!
