The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about SmartWool Midweight Long-Sleeve Zip Top - Women's:
I am a girl who is always cold. I spotted one of these tops at REI and decided to give it a try - cold no longer!! Not only is the fit cute and feminine, the zip top gives me crucial neck warmth but can be opened for venting. It has enabled me, with one single lightweight layer under a wind jacket, to continue running in the winter. Okay I live in NC, but it gets to the 20s and 30s here and I HATE being cold. This layer stays warm when you are sweaty, and doesn't make you cold and clammy when you slow down. It resists odor and is in general amazing. It's also cute and I would wear it all the time except I use it mainly for exercising. I'm a US 0-2 34B on top the XS is snug but fits. I would prob go for small next time.

Comments about SmartWool Midweight Long-Sleeve Zip Top - Women's:
My first smartwool sweater, I debated getting this for 6 months before taking the plunge. It is very comfortable and lightweight and dries pretty quickly (~ 24 hours in my wet bathroom). The length is nice as I don't have to pull it down with one hand when fixing my hair, reaching for something, etc but the sleeves could be a tiny bit longer. The zipper is really nice and doesn't catch on you or scratch. It easily makes the sweater warmer and changes the look. I like to wear it on top of a tanktop or tshirt but it would also go under sweaters or jackets easily. Casual enough to wear hiking but also looks nice when going out and the smartwool logo is casual on one side on the bottom. Finally, beware, once you start into the nice wool clothes, you won't be able to stop at one!
If it helps, I'm 5'4 and 115lb and a large chest and I wear a small (the XS was a little too tight for me).
cons:
tag could be scratchy...consider cutting it out
better to air dry (Although they say you can put it in the dryer)
form fitting (con or pro, depending on you)

Comments about SmartWool Midweight Long-Sleeve Zip Top - Women's:
I have two of these tops, one in each color, and they are my go-to first layer on cold days under a sweater or fleece, and also look great on their own. I have worn them on wilderness trips and in big cities and around the house. The fit is feminine because of the seaming in the front, sleeves are good and long and can be pushed up if I get too warm. I wash them in the machine and throw them in the dryer (not on high heat) and have had no shrinkage in two years of use. I've handwashed them while traveling and they dry quickly for wool. They never get stinky, unlike polyester. I wish they were slightly longer, another inch or so. If they made another good color (not white!) I would buy another one, even though they are never on sale. Expensive, but definitely worth it. After two years, they look almost as good as new, and I wear them a lot when the weather is anywhere from cool to cold.

I have 2 of these mid-weight half zips and I wear them constantly. They have been washed hundreds of times and they have never shrunk or stretch out of shape. I layer the mid-weight crew under this half zip and I'm good to go on the coldest New England day. My only complaint is that they don't make them in a lot of colors.

Comments about SmartWool Midweight Long-Sleeve Zip Top - Women's:
Well, clearly I'm in the minority here because I was really not impressed with this top. I wanted a base layer that would be nice enough to stand on its own once the top layers had to come off while camping or hiking. I ordered the medium and thought it just a little too snug to wear alone, yet the shoulders were large. I thought this must be some kind manufacturing error so I went to the store to try on another medium and also a large. I liked the overall fit of the large but the shoulders were huge-lots of extra material poofing out. It looked very weird. Same with the medium, just less poofiness. And another thing-it was kind of itchy! What's with that? Isn't this Smartwool? I've never had a Smartwool product itch before. For that matter I've never before had problems with extra material in the shoulders.
I see some of the reviews are from a year ago. Maybe they changed the material or cut somewhat. I so wanted this to love this top but I returned it.
If it helps, I'm 5'6", an athletic 140lbs, with size 34C-D bust.

Absolutely fabulous. I got this four days ago and literally have only taken it off to shower and sleep! Doesn't hold odor, always looks great, and the sleeves are long enough (I have very long arms)! The Aegean Heather is gorgeous! This little number is worth every penny.

Very lightweight, packs well, wears well, and regulates body temperature great! The collar is floppy, and a little thin to wear by itself. I've had it for about three months, and piling is not a problem.
Naturally wicking, and transitions very well from outdoor active, to indoor relaxing. The collar makes it a little uncomfortable to sleep in, but the pros certainly outweight the cons for this top. I ordered a small (5'7, 125lb) and it fits perfectly other than the sleeves being a bit short (but I usually have that problem with tops).

Comments about SmartWool Midweight Long-Sleeve Zip Top - Women's:
Received this baselayer as Christmas gift. I love the color (I have the purple one), and it fits so well and flattering unlike the traditional base layer which has to be worn under other clothing. It is stylish enough just to wear it on its own, so I can just have my boarding jacket over. I was worry the wool will be scratchy, but it is not. I can't wait to wear it next week on the cold snowy mountain.

Comments about SmartWool Midweight Long-Sleeve Zip Top - Women's:
I have been looking at these for a couple of years, knowing how warm and washable Smartwool socks are, but the color choices and the price delayed my purchase. This year the purple showed up along with a sale and I went for it. I am very happy with this purchase. It feels well made, has enough styling to look good if not under other clothes, and is barely wrinkled after being washed and left in the dryer for a week. I just put it back on and no shrinkage either. I will be wearing this on my winter vacation both because it is cute and will take minimal space in the suitcase, as well as to business casual work meetings(it is always cold where I work) and light hikes with my sweetie (too nice for plain old sweaty running).
