        I've tried all kinds of polyester type base layers, but I always seem to feel overheated and sweaty during strenuous activities such as snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Finally, something that actually breathes, is quick drying, doesn't smell and seems by magic to temperature adjust to multiple situations. No wool itch and it's easily washable. The price is steep, but TOTALLY worth it. Runs small, so buy a size up and you'll be happy.

          Everything Smartwool makes is comfortable, but what really makes this top stand out is the cut. It's got great princess seaming that provide a very flattering fit for women--nothing boxy or baggy here. (I'm slim, average height, large-chested. Size S is a good snug fit.)

          Smartwool is great in that it's comfy, breathable, and odor-resistant, but its one weakness is durability. My Smartwool products all show pilling and wear after pretty minimal use, and this top is no exception. It's kept its functionality but looks quite worn out after just a few months.

            This SmartWool Lightweight base layer definately is worth the money I paid for it. I was looking for something light, warm, cozy and stylish at the same time and this shirt has it all. It feels great against the skin, adjusts to temperature changes, and does not smell.
