Comments about REI Mistral Pants - Women's Tall:
I bought these pants for their weather resistant quality before a trip to the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State September a year ago. I fell in love with these pants. They were not only perfect for the cold drizzly weather during dawn and dusk photo shoots, but immediately became my all time favorite pants. I put them on when I want something comfortable to lounge in. And I put them on when I want a cute pair of slacks to wear. Much better than jeans for both comfort and looks. Given a choice, I wouldn't wear anything else. Quick drying, they are wash and wear. A great pant!

Comments about REI Mistral Pants - Women's Tall:
I wore these pants for 3 days straight on a trip around Mt. Ranier and they are awesome. I typically wear Pfanner's from Austria and these are almost as good. They are also long enough, another great feature from REI! Thanks. They do run big and I had to go down a size.

Comments about REI Mistral Pants - Women's Tall:
I needed a pair of soft-shell pants for mountain climbing and hiking in CO. I wanted the weather-resistance AND stretchy material for maneuverability while rock climbing.I was so excited when I found these in the store since REI usually makes quality gear and saving $60 over the "Brand Name" soft-shell pants sounded great to me. They fit great in the store. I am 5'9" and the tall length was much appreciated. I've worn them on two climbs. One warm and dry. They were comfortable on the ascent, but started to stretch out and were very hot on the descent. We're talking 60-70 degrees here, not 90-100.On the second climb, and after ONE washing where I made sure to carefully follow the instructions, they didn't fit nearly the same as the first climb. They were all stretched out. I was pulling them up the entire climb. Then it rained. They were 100% soaked within minutes and got even more stretched out. Furthermore, the lining of the pants actually held water in next to my skin while the outer fabric dried after the rain. I was freezing. I would have been better off in my regular nylon pants. These are not what I would consider soft-shell pants if they are not AT ALL weather resistant! I will be returning these and sadly beginning my pants-search again.
