Tough and light, the Kona Dawg full-suspension mountain bike is a sturdy rig built for epic, all-day backcountry rides.

  • Scandium frame, which is lighter than standard aluminum but just as strong, is butted and hydroformed to offer excellent ride quality and big drop capabilities
  • RockShox Recon 335 suspension fork boasts 130mm of travel with both rebound adjustment and easy-to-use TurnKey™ lockout
  • Fox Float RP2 rear shock nearly levitates the rear end over rugged terrain and off big drops
  • Shimano drivetrain features the XT Shadow rear derailleur, along with Deore shifters and front derailleur, for quick shifts through the 27 gears
  • Shimano M575 hydraulic hydraulic disc brakes supply reliable, precise stopping power, even in muddy and wet conditions
  • Maxxis Ignitor tires ensure plenty of traction and excellent handling
  • Cockpit is outfitted with Kona XC/BC handlebar, stem and seatpost, which is topped with a WTB Speed V Comp saddle

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly.
