Comments about Nikon Monarch X 8.5 x 45 Binoculars:

Great feel and quality construction.
I have a 20 year old pair of Nikon 8X32 compact binoculars that have held up very well through a lot of use (hiking, camping, and boating).
Because of the 45mm objective lens on the Monarch X this is also a good night sky binocular.
I spent about half hour in the store comparing the Nikon Monarch (8X42) and the Monarch X (8,5X45) before purchasing the Monarch X. They have a slightly brighter image and slightly better (or natural) color transmission. The "X" model also seems to have a little more solid feel.
I'm very pleased with them
