      I needed to replace my blade sunglasses for mountain biking, golf, and motorcycling (First thing I ever lost off a ski lift. If they weren't already cracked and glued, I'd have skied back to retrieve them).

      I found the need to have glasses for protection in low light while mountain biking at dusk. I always wear polarized glasses, but decided to consider photochromatic lenses or glasses with multiple lens sets. After researching my options online with REI's extensive selection, I headed into the store with several frontrunners in mind. Glasses are not something I would not buy online due to comfort issues. Bottom line, if it doesn't fit or feel right, no deal. No matter how cool they look!

      After trying four pairs of Tifosis (Slip, Logic, Tyrant, and Vogel), I was surprised a bit to settle on the Vogel. It was the last pick style-wise. I didn't have an urge to look like Bono with a big, red, one-piece lens. But, again, my mission was fit and comfort. These things weigh nothing on my face, fit like they were custom made, and have absolutely no frame to obscure my peripheral or top/bottom view. And they gave the fullest coverage. I particularly was impressed with vision as I am leaning forward and looking up as you would on a bicycle. The framed blades obscured view in this position. And no frame to obscure my golf vision will be one less excuse to miss par in golf.

      The sales clerk was so cool and let me take a couple pair out in the sun (just asked to hold my license). The Fototech actually worked. Despite reviews, I did notice the change. It takes a couple minutes. I like the rose color, and it will be great for snowboarding, golf, biking, everyday wear. I wish it got lighter, though, for evening rides. There was no other lens choice for this model. The clear/gray lens on the Logic is lighter, and I wish it was available on the Vogel. The only polarized AND photochromic option was the darkest of all the Tifosi lenses, so that wouldn't work for my purpose.

      Mountain bike perfection, lightweight to the point where they don't feel like they are there. Red color provides good contrast and they do darken a bit, but I'd like some other color options as well. Having said that, I am pleased at the difficulty to even smudge these lenses. I am a real princess when it comes to lens smudges, and I don't find myself cleaning these off every 5 minutes. I also scooter around my college town and they provide pretty decent wind protection. I recommend to anyone who has tired of the higher priced options that don't function any better.

        These glasses are very light. They offer good protection. They have held up well in the 2 months that I have had them. My only complaint is they sit slightly crooked on me. When I looked closely, the arms where not addjusted the same and the curve on the ear piece is different on the two arms. Thought about sending back for another pair, but I did not want to do without them. I have not noticed the lenes changing. I would buy again.
