Pants are on their way back to REI. I wanted a good looking casual pair of pants with a short inseam. Too bad the fit is so bad. Way long in the rise I didn't expect a jeans fit but this was terrible there was about 3 inches of extra material in the crotch.I ordered the 28" inseam they were touching the floor even when I was wearing shoes.The pants are so baggy they look like the pants from a Zoot suit. Very disappointed REI you can do better. How about something for us shorter guys with a better fit in the rise

I ordered these pants without seeing them in person first. I am very happy with my choice. I thought they might be a good hiking/casual wear combination pant. Honestly, I haven't hiked in them yet. I imagine they would be great. The side cargo pockets work fine but give your pants a bulky look when full because the pockets are inside the pant as opposed to utilizing an outside pocket.

The reason I haven't taken them on the trail yet is because I want to keep them looking nice. When I opened them up they almost looked like a dress pant. They are more of a smart-casual pant, which is fine for me. They are really comfortable! They are very packable and the wrinkles can be smoothed out sufficiently by stretching the fabric a little rubbing them down with your hands. Bottom line: I don't want to wear my dress pants anymore if I can wear my Adventure Pants... so I do. They're lightweight, quick drying, silky smooth, don't hold stains, and with the side pockets zipped can be passed off for meeting acceptable attire. Yes! I now own two pairs in different colors.

I use these every day and have two pairs in the dark blue and tan. Great stylish yet casual looking pants with the sneaky little zipper pocket that is great for keys or a money clip. I am a shorter guy and went for the 28 inch inseam, I usually go for a 30 but the 30 were a little on the long side when worn with boots or shoes and the crease break was too big for my liking. The rest fitted perfectly and these pants are great for traveling in or for going to a business meeting in. I actually bought the shorts version of these first and loved how they fitted and felt, which made me buy the pants version too.My only complaint is that the dark colors seem to attract every single color of lint in the world. Apart from that I love them.Word to the wise, seeing as w are all different, I actually went to a REI store first to try on some different sizes before buying them online.

These are great pants. The 28" inseam saves time and money of having to go to a tailor. These pants are the best travel pants I have found because they don't have obvious cargo pockets that make you look like a tourist. They dry quickly, but also do not show stains (I have the dark gray color) so you don't have to wash them often unless you're sweating a lot. I have worn these pants in a wide range of climates ranging from 25 degrees F to 85 degrees F (and humid) and I have always been comfortable (not cold/not sweaty). I usually wear these pants when commuting by bike (about 5 miles) because of the comfort these pants provide in varying temperatures. I can tell these pants are very durable and will definitely bring them with me when I go camping/hiking.

The hidden pockets above the knee are great for storing various items while traveling. On international flights, I use the hidden pockets to store my passport and boarding passes. When I was in Bangladesh and Singapore, I used them for my camera and phone (one in each hidden pocket). There is a hidden pocket behind the regular right-hand side pocket, but it is only big enough to fit credit cards or cash. I wish the regular pockets also zipped up discretely like the hidden pockets.

I usually wear slim-fitted clothes, so they don't have the exact fit I would like for going out or for work, but they are perfect for any other occasion.
