Comments about MSR Quick 1 System Cookset:
I was excited when I received this cookset as a gift- titanium is pretty cost prohibitive otherwise. Initially, I was impressed. The ergonomic cup fits cozily in your hands. The pot handle latches open and holds the lid in place when it closes. I love the strainer in the lid. Though sometimes when I would disperse cooking water, the handle would collapse and pinch my fingers. And the cozy mug has a metal lip that burns my lips. Then last week, I went on a multi-day paddling trip and my companion brought his Dragonfly stove with the MSR International fuel pump- they don't fit together, FYI. So we were cooking over a small open fire. The handle is coated in plastic that completely melted and the button that collapses the handle melted as well, so the handle is stuck out now. I feel like a fairly costly cooking pot should be durable enough for cooking over a small fire. It is for cooking, after all.
