Comments about Detours Teeco Too Pannier - Single:
I'm a mixed-use cyclist: I commute, I shop, I take day trips and I switch between a 21-speed hybrid, a 20" folder, and a slow but fun cruiser. And I wish I had known the Teeco Too existed before I had purchased other panniers, because they've made the others a bit redundant.
More room than I ever thought was possible, with a nylon drawstring top that makes it water resistant and allows you to haul things as tall as you can safely manage. The 2-hooks-and-you're-done attachment is designed so that its sits at a perfect height and keeps its shape whether you have it full or not. It's actually slimmer from side-to-side as it sits on the rack compared to other pannier bags, allowing for slightly more heel clearance, which has made it possible for me to use it on my 20" folder's rack as well.
I've fit 2-bag's worth of groceries in each single pannier (I own 2), stacking canned goods and heavier items at the bottom and the lighter/smaller things at the top. I can literally shop for my entire family's groceries in one ride when I wear one of the Teeco Toos as a backpack and use one of my smaller panniers on the other side of the rack to carry even more (I also own a set of Toocans and some generic grocery-bag frame panniers). I have brought flowers and plants for gardening home in them, and I've transported softball gear in them as well (try that with a regular bag!)
These are also nice commuting panniers - I just throw my jacket, lunch, papers, essentials, and bike lock into it, and I have the option of wearing it backpack style when I pay my bus fare, and then use the regular shopping handles for the rest of the journey.
Other things to consider:
The attachment hooks are sturdy and easy-to-use, but ultimately plastic. They could wear out over time if you consistently haul super-human loads (i.e. cement blocks or multiple 12-packs of soda). The heft of 2 bag's worth of groceries with mixed items (cans, liter bottles, veggies, paper) it handles well.
It has a nylon drawstring top and water-resistant fabrics on the inside and lining, but it does not include a nifty yellow raincover as with the other Detours products. If you consistently ride in drenching rain for hours at a time, you may need to line any dry goods when you pack. I haven't had any issues in my usual shopping rides just keeping the drawstring closed.
Bottom line: excellent pannier for multiple purposes, versatile enough to handle small loads and large/numerous items, a must-have for people who use their bicycle as a replacement for errands normally done by a car, without the expense of stepping up to an Xtra-cycle type of utlity bicycle.
