The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Rite in the Rain Outdoor Journal - Large:
This is the best little field journal out there. Combine this with the Fisher space pen (REI Item 691132) and you will have a nearly invincible journal. I've used it in Greenland well below freezing, in the rain in Patagonia, in the hot southern California desert and literally tried it underwater with the Fisher and it worked perfectly.
I used to use pencil but found that as you rub your hand on the pencil, it does turn a little hazy. My journals that I was careful with written with pencil are still readable 10 years later. My pen written journals are perfect 7 years later.

Comments about Rite in the Rain Outdoor Journal - Large:
I used this during my 135 mile backpack on the Appalachian Trail. It rained almost two thirds of the trip, sometimes for days on end. Everything I owned was wet and soggy but I could still journal every day without worrying about ruining the paper. It was awesome! Not too heavy, either. I was concerned that the spiral would get ruined because of all the rough treatment I threw its way, but it held its shape and the wires never pulled loose or got caught on anything. Inside, the lines were spaced just far enough apart, similar to a college ruled loose leaf. I liked the unobtrusive dotted vertical lines that allowed the journal to be used as graph paper if needed. I highly recommend this book for rugged outdoor use. I'm ordering another for my next trip.

Comments about Rite in the Rain Outdoor Journal - Large:
I was on a hike on the Kalalau trail in Kauai for a college class. Sitting in the cave at the end of the beach, freak wave out of no where. Everyone's stuff get soaking wet, everyone's journals as well. Mine was the only one to survive, and with perfectly legible writing after getting completely soaked. Make sure you use a pencil or waterproof pen though or else it's no good. About to go on another trip and you can bet im buying another one of these to keep my journals in.
