The Cannondale Synapse 7 bike is responsive and fiercely competitive, thanks to a lightweight frame with comfort-enhancing geometry that'll still get you rolling quickly.

  • Synapse T6061 aluminum frame has a long head tube for a comfortable, upright riding position
  • Fork features the Cannondale Synapse Active Vibration Elimination (S.A.V.E.) technology for damping road vibration; seatstays and chainstays are shaped to increase damping
  • FSA Vero triple crankset efficiently drives power across all 27 gear combinations
  • Shimano Tiagra rear derailleur and Sora shifters provide smooth, easy gear changes

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly.     I recieved this bike in May and have since then put 220 miles on it in various conditions. This bike is light and stiff, very responsive, but very comfortable to ride. The SAVE technology really does what it says, very nice on those bumpy roads plus I can keep the tires fully inflated without the ride quality being too harsh. If you are doing a lot of hills then you will really appreciate the triple chainring as this bike isn't geared that low. My only complaint is the tires. They are pretty cheap very vulnerable to flats. This is easily remedied though with some armadillos or continental ultra gator skins.I was very interested in the Novarra Divano but the Synapse to me was worth the extra since it is hand made[...]

    Been doing mountain for a few years and this is my first road bike. Now I'm telling myself why I waited too long to get it but I guess it was also a the bike fit. I looked at Scott S40, Trek 1.2 and Specialized before going to REI and found this bike. I rode Trek and Scott a few hours earlier that day so everything was still fresh on my mind. When I went around the store for a few minutes with this bike, I knew right away that it was the right bike for me and the bike was very responsive and comfortable.
