Comments about Black Diamond Stormtrack 2 Tent:
I finally settled on this mountaineering tent after extensively researching and comparing it to other similar tents. Although it's pricey, it is lightweight, very roomy and has numerous unique features.
The inventive "Y" shaped hubbed-pole design means the tent is very stable, even with only 3 poles. The walls of the tent are nearly vertical keeping the wall fabric away from you and giving you more floor space. It has a large front vestibule and an adequately sized back vestibule as well, allowing for plenty of gear storage and cross-ventilation through both door vents and ceiling vents. It's easy to set up and once the fly is on, there are 15 different locations to stake (9) and guy-out (6) the tent making it extremely stable.
I've used it once so far above 8000 ft at the foot of Mt. Lassen in the snow and my friend and I slept very comfortably. We especially enjoyed how spacious it was and its tall ceiling. I plan to use it on all my future mountaineering trips this year and from here on out!
The only con I've noticed so far is due to the shape of the door the zipper is a little tight in one spot which is slightly annoying but a minor inconvenience.

Comments about Black Diamond Stormtrack 2 Tent:
[...] It is very generous in space for 2 adults. Plenty of vestibule space as well. Construction is high quality. It pitches tight and strong. It is a very fast pitch once you understand how the poles and 2 of the clips are to be placed . I got this for 2 adults for above the treeline camping. Its construction and specs as well as reviews make me confident it will perform well. It ships with 6 seven inch stakes and heavy guy line without tensioners. I have added 6 similar but 9 inch Coleman stakes for the tent perimeter and will use Kelty triptease guy line with tensioners. Weight without stakes and bag was 6.76 lbs. I feel the weight is worth it to me for the space and strength.
