Comments about Garmont Tower GTX Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
After having thoroughly researched my next boot I decided to try this boot out because it just felt better on my foot and had all the same specs as the other popular brands. Just because the name is not familiar in North America, do not think of them as a lesser or cheap brand (I would compare them directly with Asolo and La Sportiva). I have backpacked and climbed 14'ers in this boot and it has never let me down. Internal ankle padding comfortably wraps my heel and I have yet to get any blisters. I would say the included removable foot bed should be replaced, as is my experience with every boot. The snug fit and extremely grippy sole improves stability and confidence when scrambling class 3 and 4 climbing routes near those big exposures. I have yet to have to use it on any traditional class 5 routes but I fully expect it to perform. I would put this on your must have list of gear for next year, or right now since it fits crampons.
