Fitting an Electra bike is easy. Start by setting the saddle to its lowest position and then stand over it with both feet flat on the ground. Next, simply raise the saddle until it rests in the crotch. Tighten it in place, and that's it— you're done! After an initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly.       a fantastic bike. You'll want to take it everywhere. You'll even make excuses to ride it. very comfortable riding position, and can go faster than it looks (trust me- I crashed on mine going over 30mph.)It has a long wheel base, do not take on roads esp. hills, untill you are used to its wider turning radius. Unlike a lot of bikes, this one is a real looker, and really stands out. Electra bikes come in many styles and colors and are very noticable, even in (especially?) traffic. I've had cars actually STOP and look at this bike. This bike has a tendancy to help with confidence- trust me you'll be out there riding with the best of them.

      Electra makes a ton of accesories, and the bike can become super useful. You can haul a surfboard, cary groceries, go through the drive-thru latte stand etc. It'll become your new best friend. Electra bikes come in many colors, gear combinations, etc. Check out their website and you will see that this is the world's most over-accessorized bike. Its very user friendly and there is sure to be a bike for everyone from the hippie chick next door to that yuppie co-worker one cubical over that you just can't stand. This bike makes a good gift, even for non-cyclists.

      This bike is too cute for its own good. ladies...those of you who are dating WILL get attention, compliments, questions etc. You will meet new people owning this bike. Now for the bad news; this bike also attracts theives. I had mine unlocked beside a treck...the theif took mine even though it was less valuable, and heavier. Ladies- do NOT under any circumstances EVER leave this bike unattended, unlocked, not even for a split second. You will lose it. These bikes are euro-style beach and city bikes, and you need a good lock. While you are at it, register it too. This is a very good bike. I am buying another one, but please dont ever leave one vulnerable to theft if you intend on keeping it.

        I LOVE this bike!!! I am a BBW (Big, Beautiful Woman) and did not think I could still ride a bike. I am glad to say I was wrong. I had not ridden in over 25 years but this has been a dream come true.

        The bike is so easy and smooth to ride, by the second week I was up to 13 miles in one trip! It handles so well and is very easy to shift. I can ride up and down hills with ease. My husband liked it so much he ended up selling his mountain bike and purchasing a Townie too! My friends have also tried it and are now looking into getting their own!

        The one draw back on this ride is how stylish it is, I make sure to lock it up wherever we go.

        Oh this is the best bike. I bought it for my daughter who will be going to college this fall. She wanted my 3 speed hawaii electra cruiser and I just couldnt let it go because it is so cute. I bought her this 21 speed townie upright, flat foot technology and now I want it. She wont let me have it. It has a basket. (too cute) and we are adding fenders to it so her clothes wont get mud splashed. I dont know whether to trade my cruiser in or just get another townie. ( I really dont need two bikes.)The 21 speeds really make it more versatile for hills and biking trails with friends. It is easy to get in and out of and to get stopped and started because you just put your feet out. I highly recommend this bike for comfort and looking really cool..
