Comments about Vasque Celerator Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I was very excited to try these shoes since I had really good luck with Vasque in the past but always felt they were a bit on the heavy side.
The shoes were very comfortable right out of the box. They were lightweight, breathed and drained well and had good traction. However, they didnt even make it to 100 miles. Last weekend during an ultra race the fabric on the front inside of both the left and right shoe (above the ball of my foot) tore and separated from the sole. It was not a race ending failure but I certainly wouldn't trust them in any more runs.
There needs to be more material to beef up this area- especially for technical trail shoes. If you run mild trails or maybe a lot of gravel / hardpack these shoes would be great. If you are running technical/rocky trails or spend a lot of time in the mountains I don't think these will last.

Comments about Vasque Celerator Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
With feet that are difficult to fit its always a challenge for me to find the right shoes for day hikes, or walking a few miles at a stretch. I tried the Keen Voyageur, Lowa Tempest, Merrell Moab Ventilators and more.
I love Vasque leather boots (the ones still made in Italy) and I've had a couple of pairs over the years. The Chinese Vasques never seemed to fit quite the same, or last as long. I went with the Vasque Celerator as a last resort after the above mentioned didn't work. I put my custom Superfeet insoles in and bada bing bada boom: done!
These shoes fit well, give me more support than the others and make me feel lighter on my feet on and off the trail. I can't ask for more in this price range. The closeout price is just an added bonus.
I wish REI and others carried the infamous size 12 1/2. I'm in between a 12 and 13 in most of these shoes. Fortunately the Vasques seem to be about right in a 12.
I want to thank REI for allowing me to return the Lowa Tempests, Merrell Moab Ventilators, and Keen Voyageurs before deciding on the Vasque Celerators. Being a member has its rewards.

Comments about Vasque Celerator Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
My husband bought these for hiking. In less than 2 weeks / 50 miles, the sole gave out. Will be returning them [...] They were comfortable, breathed well, and had good traction. However, not reliable and very short life span.
