    We bought this for our boy scout's first backpack as a birthday gift. It has several great storage pockets in addition to the main, central compartment. Good size for a weekend-long camping trip. The aluminum frame is a good size for a pre-teen, and we could lash his sleeping bag and ground pad onto the frame as well. Good looking, well-thought-out, and comfortable to wear while hiking to your camp site.

They can fit a wider range of sizes then internal frame packs and they have plently of storage outside the pack so you are not forced to buy the most compact of sleeping pads/bags/and tents.         Quite plainly and simply an all around great backpack. I've had mine (an older version) for at least 3 years now and have never had a single problem with it. It has a comfortable fit and enough space for long trips. It is also very easy to adjust. I am very impressed with all aspects of this pack. If you're looking for an all around great pack for a great price, this is for you.
