Sizing is based on girth and length. For girth, measure around the widest part of your dog's rib cage. For length, measure from base of dog's neck to the base of tail.

      I have had great experiences with a variety of Ruff Wear dog jackets over the years and the Cloud Chaser is another very versatile coat, so much that my other two friends are going to get a coat just like their packsister. My Dobie x Whippet is very short haired and needs some serious insulation when we're out in the Mojave in winter. She is also very energitic and super activa so she really needs a solid coat. The Cloud Chaser is the ticket. While she is very lean, the coat fits her very loosly around her skinny gut which is fine for ventilation and I just pin it up at night or when she's chilling to keep the pile next to her skin. I would highly recommend this coat to anyone, including you.

      It is great for my little dogs when we go backpacking and on winter hikes. It keeps them try and warm. It also keeps them cleaner. We love Ruffwear!!!

      Our 80 lb. Black lab was a street dog in Las Vegas, and when we took him to Wyoming for Christmas in the mountains...he desperately needed something and this is what we got. It keeps an active dog warm and sheds water and snow well. It's relatively easy to put on, but we let our lab run free and he has consequently ripped his coat in several places on underbrush. I wish it were more durable, but we are getting one for our second lab as well. That said I have waited to buy it at the sale price. I can't see paying [$] for a dog coat no matter how fancy

      This is a great coat for walking your dog in bad weather, it doesn't leak from rain or snow and it is fairly easy to put on and take off. However, if your dog likes to run through the woods where the jacket might come in contact with twigs and under brush, the fabric will tear easily. I had to replace mine and learned the hard way. Other than that, it is a great coat.

        We moved from Arizona to Germany and I wanted them for the plane ride as I know those cargo holds are cold. I didn't want anything that would restrict movement or that they could possibly get twisted up in. My brother was jealous, claiming they had nicer outdoor gear then he did. The coats have really helped keep the dogs warm while they adjust to a new climate. As thrilled as they are for walks, the old guy would run outside and run back in, look at his coat and bark, as if to say, "dummy, you forgot my ruff wear." I suspect they'll get a lot of use again next winter. People also give the dogs a lot of attention when they are wearing their coats--and the dogs don't mind that either. The coats wash easily, just a spin in the machine and they come out like new.

        This jacket was great! I take my dogs out hiking all of the time. My rottweiler gets cold much more quickly than my long haired dog and he needs extra protection to stay comfortable. This jacket was warm and comfortable, no hot spots after wearing... not even around the front legs! We were out in cold and rain and even splashed through many a river on our last trip in the Georgia mountains and this coat did it all. It never even snagged on branches or fallen limbs as he hiked through many trail-less wildlife management areas. Great buy!

          I was skeptical because I have never found a single jacket/rain coat/clothing that properly fit my dog. My dog is a toy fox terrier and dachschund mix so she is skinny, kind of tallish for her size, and then longer than normal. This jacket is is just like an adult soft shell jacket so it is flexible with the fit and I definitely recommend it.
