Comments about Scarpa Summit GTX Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
Its true...i used them on a trip to rainier and i never even once thought about my feel. Standing around for 15-20 minutes, my feet never got cold.a lot stiffer of a boot than the sportiva glaciers. Glad i went with these boots.

Comments about Scarpa Summit GTX Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I got the shoes in the beginning of this year - and used them on Colorado 14ers - and they worked great. Plenty warm, fit G-12 perfectly, comfortable. I had to use superfeet to eliminate slight hot spot on my hills ( the hill wasn't locking in very tight ).
The true test came when I took them on our Elbrus expedition. Unfortunately, even with temperatures slightly below 0, the boots didn't hold up and my toes got cold. Not super cold, but cold enough to wish I had over boots or plastics.
If you want to use the shoes on smaller mountains in continental US, this will be a good pick, but any 7-summiters should consider something warmer.

Comments about Scarpa Summit GTX Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
This boot performed extremely well for me when climbing Mt. Rainer Sept '08. I am 5'10" 170lb with slightly larger volume feet and Scarpa works well for this. The boot provided a good fit, great grip on ice and loose rock, and crampons fit well. Needed to add an insole for slight fit adjustment, but all feet are not created equal and this is expected of any performance boot.
I was the only one on the trip that came down without any blisters, only a slight pinch on one toe. Everyone else either had multiple blisters or limping with other well known boot brands.
I am very happy with this boot and would recommend this boot to anyone with larger volume feet.
