Comments about Arc'Teryx Miura 50 Pack:
This is an awesome climbing bag. I did not get the recommended rope bag for it but I have no problem cramming my metolius rope ranger into the bottom of it. And I still have room for my rack, collapsable helmet, harnesses and whatever else takes my fancy. I clip my sweaty stinky shoes on the outside for obvious reasons.
It is great being able to open the entire bag getting access to everything in about 5 seconds. When it is open you can still throw everything on top of it and carry it a short distance to a different route.
The hip pads are thin but very well formed so they distribute the weight evenly and don't pinch anywhere making it very comfortable to carry.
The only thing that it might be able to use are side pockets for nalgene bottles but this isn't a big problem I just added the bottle holders that nalgene makes and attached them to the side webbing that is on the back of the hip pads.
I would recommend this bag to anyone looking for a great climbing bag.

Comments about Arc'Teryx Miura 50 Pack:
I got this backpack a while ago for climbing. I'm a passionate sports climber and carry quite some gear with me during the approach. I'm very specific about keeping my stuff in order and in its place. I also have the matching rope bag, which unfortunately is not sold by REI, at least I haven't seen it on the online store.
What should I say, everything stays where it is supposed to be. The top opens up with the zipper and you get access to everything in the backpack without having to look for it. The little slings inside are very useful if you want to keep a few carabiners easily accessible. I use the top compartment to store food and bars, while I put a thicker jacket or clothes in the out compartment. Everything super easy to access.
Kinda pricy, but certainly worth every dollar. I love this backpack!!
