Comments about The North Face Base Camp Duffel - Small:
I bought this Duffel about a year ago, I have traveled across the states & the Caribbeans.
This bag has gone thru a lot, and still going strong. I just LOVE IT!

Comments about The North Face Base Camp Duffel - Small:
So I have used this bag traveling from commuting trips up to 2 weeks and it is perfect. It has gone with me on snowboarding trips up in the mountains, summer trips to the Greek Islands, long weekend to Vegas and to my girlfriends for a couple days.
I'm 6'2 and this bag fits nice, compact, and comfortable to carry (a little trick I do is twist the backpack straps so they become one shoulder strap and its the most comfortable shoulder strap I have ever used!). I have tried to use it as a backpack and it works decent and its a great option so you can have both your hands free. The side compression straps work great so even packed all the way I can squeeze it down and always use it as a carry on bag.
On the inside it is just one giant bag with no pockets and dividers (except for one thin one in the flap). To organize the inside of the bag I use Eagle Creek pack-it organizers so it keeps my gear organized and I can push and squeeze everything so it fits. I have packed this so tight that I have used it as an upright seat while traveling. I am pretty rough on my gear tossing it and dragging it so there are plenty of little scuff marks, etc. but the bag is just as durable as the first day I got it. TNF did a great job and I also bought the med and large version of this I like them so much.
Oh, I got it in white so it always stands out and I know where it is and its easy to find stuff inside my bag with the contrast. Buy it and enjoy it.

Comments about The North Face Base Camp Duffel - Small:
My work requires that I travel to remote areas of the world for months at a time providing medical support to a variety of clients. This is the only pack I take for personal gear. It is small enough to use as a carry-on when I fly (eliminates the need for checked bags), yet large enough to stow the essential gear for my trip. This pack has travelled with me on work assignments from the Amazon to the Arctic Circle. When home, I use it for weekend trips and short vacations. The seams are bulletproof even when I have it packed to the gills. The flap over the zipper makes it almost waterproof. My favorite feature is the backpack style carry system. Rather then the thin straps usually marketed as "backpack straps" on other duffels, these ones are genuine, padded, adjustable backpack straps. You can carry the load comfortably without cutting off circulation to your arms (I have shouldered loads of 40 - 50 Ibs with ease in this bag). It also allows for effective hands free operation a definite plus when you find yourself in inhospitable situations. My gear sees a lot of abuse because of the environments I operate in. Other than a few nicks on the material it is still going strong, a very versatile bag.
This produce is well designed and durable with practical features. Like most NF products you pay a premium for price but their gear has not let me down yet, so for me it is worth the few extra bucks.

This is a perfect waterproof bag...I purchased it for my toddler's swim class. It's very convenient...I can put a lot of stuff in it, don't have to worry about it getting wet...and it's nice to have an option to carry it as a back pack so that my hands are free to carry my son. Only bad thing was that the cloth string on the zipper fell...but it's still 'usable' without it.

Great bag which I have used in multiple scenarios--camping, paddling, or even just on the plane (fits perfect in the overhead). The shoulder straps are very comfortable. Holds up to use and abuse wonderfully. Daisy chain on outside comes in handy. Was so impressed with the first that I bought another (different size).
