Terrible laces cause blisters

    These are terrible! I bought size 12K and 3K for my 6 and 8 year old boys. We hike a lot - they have backpacked 10 miles before and we've never had a problem with their shoes! Until now. We're in the Tetons for a month and on day 1, BOTH children got blisters (hiking only 3 miles). On day 2, BOTH children got MORE blisters (hiking 5.5 miles). I figured out what the problem is - the laces are horrible. They are elastic laces that stretch and loosen while you hike causing the foot to move around. Also, the tongue on the 3K is too short, so when you go to tie the shoe, the tongue barely clears the laces. I am now frantically searching for shoes here or trying to order more shoes online. Who wants to do that on vacation?
