Comments about Brooks Switch 2 Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
Overall, I like these shoes. But I did exchange them for Asics Nimbus 11's after all (about [$]/pair, but really nice if money isn't an issue). Here's why: though comfy and nice-fitting, the heel thickness seemed thin to me. Having owned a pair of nike airmax's before these, I'm sure I'm used to a thick, highly shock-absorbing heel. So, this pair felt odd to me in that way. That being said, I did use these for a 12k race, and many other runs, and never had any unusual after-run aches or pains from the "low heel". In fact, depending on how you look at it, the low heel can actually be a performance advantage as it allows for greater range of motion at the ankle joint during your run stride...but for me, having rolled my ankles many times, it just felt a little...insecure.To sum it up: nice shoe, well made, good fit around the mid-foot, good value for the price, as long as you don't feel weird with a somewhat low-riding heel area.
