Comments about SureFire 6P LED Flashlight:
I spend several weeks out of the year on the trail and inthe woods, and this is a fantastic light for outdoor enthusiasts. It's held up great on hot stormy nights in the summer, and icy arctic nights in the winter. It's compact, durable and ultra bright. It doesn't have the distance of some other incandescent flashlights, but it's surely bright enough to light up anything in your way. It will light up that foggy trail, the rustling tree line or the entire campsite. Because it's so bright, I would recommend the flip-down red filter available from SUREFIRE, to help maintain your night vision when needed. The blue filter is great for tracking blood trails, or reading a map. I didn't find that I needed 2 power settings, because I use my head lamp when I want a lower brightness level. No need to worry about a replacement bulb with the LED either. SUREFIRE makes brighter lights, but you sacrifice battery life, so you're forced to carry more batteries on extended trips. INOVA makes great lights, but they have half the battery life, with no accessories. Ideal for your pack, vehicle or emergency kit, the SUREFIRE 6P LED is a perfect balance of size, brightness, battery life and price.

Comments about SureFire 6P LED Flashlight:
Maglite who? These things blow those things away, I had heard these things were bright but it I am still amazed every time I used it. In pitch black I could easily see 50 feet all from something shorter than a pen. A toy in many aspects but well worth the money. However the beam is not adjustable and for close aplications the beam kills you night vision, so you should also get the red lense from surefire, or the diffusing lense. And if you'd like to save your self a little money, the 6G is the exact same light, but with a rubber outer casing, which i found to be nice becuase it does not suck the head from you fingers the way this metal one does.
