  • Durable yet lightweight and flexible, the synthetic leather/polyester mesh uppers offer maximum breathability and comfort
  • Wicking polyester linings absorb excess moisture and dry quickly
  • Solyte® 55 uses medium-density proprietary polymer in the midsole to enhance cushioning and stability
  • Proprietary Solyte midsole is also exceptionally lightweight, with excellent rebound for easy running on and off the road
  • Forefoot and hindfoot GEL® silicone-based cushioning inserts absorb excess shock in all directions for better stability
  • Impact Guidance System (IGS®) helps slow pronation for an optimal gait and natural foot movement from heel strike through toe-off

      These shoes rock. They are a great transition shoe. Perfect to go from road to dirt roads to off road and rugged trails. They supported and handled my 225+ pounds but still felt lightweight and nimble. They are a definite plus from the Mizuno trail shoes that I was wearing. You can tell Asics has been in the running shoe game for a long time. A real winner!

        Just finished a six mile over and back on the local 1500' "mountain" and my feet feel great! I just replaced my worn Vasque Blur with these. The Blur were OK, but the foot protection and comfort provided by the 2140's is so superior. And the traction of these shoes may be the best of all trail runners I've ever worn - impressive. I had no fear of slipping on the sandy-grit-over-hardpan surface I was running down. I've worn exclusively Asics road runners for 20+ years; don't know why it took me so long to come around to their trail shoes.

          Tried a couple of different brands at the local REI. When I did a light jog in the store I felt every bit of the impact. These shoes were totally different. Like running on air, nice rounded feel when running. Just got through running a couple of miles (this is amazing for me as up till now have only done 1 mile) and I felt wonderful at the end of it. Can't wait to hit the trail in the morning for an extended run.
