This Mountain Hardwear 3-season 20° bag has an expandable draft tube. Such versatility lets you tailor the fit to your conditions and personal preference.

  • Soft, Compressible Thermic MX™ fill is engineered to provide 3-dimensional, springlike loft for superior warmth and minimal weight
  • Performance-cut mummy shape saves weight by reducing girth at shoulders, hips and lower legs
  • Quantum Expander allows unparalleled versatility; zip it up for a snug, technical fit or unzip it for 8 in. of added girth, yielding a roomier bag
  • Offset quilt construction means no sewn-through seams and no cold spots
  • Tailored hood with face gasket forms around head to seal in heat
  • Warmth is optimized through differential cut of shell and lining fabrics, allowing adequate room for the insulation to expand to its full loft
  • Comfort footbox allows feet to rest naturally, angled out slightly with toes pointing, while fully preserving insulation loft for maximum warmth
  • Insulated draft tube (backing the 2-way, full-length zipper) and insulated zipper gusset seal in heat

I just hiked a 50 mile section of the AT and this was my first experience with the Mountain Hardwear Switch 20. It went down to at least 35 degrees one night and maybe more but I was quite toasty in the bag. I just cinched the hood up a little tighter and the warm air stayed in. I had a little trouble moving around but that's me. The next night it was a little warmer so I opened the draft tubes for more room and to bring the temp. down in the bag. It did a great job. It's a little hard to get this bag small so I would recommend a compression sack. It has a lot of loft!
