Comments about The North Face Roadrunner 33 Tent:
Let me start by saying that I love this tent. I bought the Roadrunner 23 which is the two person version but are identical as far as features go. This tent has lots of usable space, and a great fly set up that acctually covers the door due to the overhang created by the brow poles. Also the built in gear attic is sweet. However I do have three complaints. There are no overhead stash pockets to put a headlamp as stated in the discription ( this was one of the features I was looking for. When I called TNF they told me thay were refering to the pockets in the lower corners as those overhead pockets. I dont know but I do not condsider 6 inches off the ground as overhead. This tent is a bit heavy, and the stuff sack that comes with it is useless. If you purchase a real compression sack, like the one that came with last years model you can reduce the packed size spec by almost half. Now like I said I do love this tent and I would recommend it to friend, I just wanted to let people know that I felt a little decieved by the discription.

Comments about The North Face Roadrunner 33 Tent:
Bought this tent in early 09 to be used for a cross country road trip from Boston to Los Angeles during the summer with my girlfriend. Did a lot of research and this seemed to have the best fabrics and features for the price(was looking in the 250-325 range). It worked great. Extremely easy to set up, can probably be done in 2-3 minutes with two people if you hustle. More than enough room for two people(I'm 6' and had plenty of head and foot room) but would be a very tight fit for 3, although doable. Also extremely waterproof. Two nights of our trip were spent in the rain and not a drop got inside. One of the nights in Memphis, TN was near hurricane conditions and we stayed dry. The only small negative to this tent I can think of is that there was some condensation a few of the mornings. This is the first tent I've ever owned so I don't have anything to compare it to. It didn't seem like very much, just a few drops on the fly door that I dried with a cloth before I packed it. I also thought the tent vented pretty well which was nice because most of our nights were very hot, only cooling off to about 90 degrees or were very humid. Again nothing to compare it to but thought it was more than sufficient. As far as features go it has four pockets one in each corner and an overhead attic thing. The pockets work great. The attic thing is nice but could probably be designed a little better. The adjustment in the middle allows you to put heavier things up there and it wont sag but then the attic is higher in the middle than on the edges and things tend to roll or fall off the edge. If it allowed you to tighten the edges somehow it would be a perfect design. Despite that design flaw I'm sure this attic works better than others you can buy. Also I'm very picky about dumb things like that and I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice something that insignificant. The vestibules are pretty good size. You can easily throw 2 or 3, maybe even 4 big packs in each along with a couple pairs of boots. I don't know how the design would fare for cooking. Having the door directly in the middle of the vestibule might not allow you to keep your food dry or sheltered from the wind while you cook. I didn't do any cooking and have never used another tent so this is more of an observation than anything else. It could be amazing for cooking and I just don't realize. Another thing is that you can definitely pack this tent smaller than what ever is listed. I didn't measure it but the stuff sack it comes with could easily be about 2-3 inches shorter and also a smaller circumference, that includes packing it with the footprint. Overall I would definitely recommend this tent. I would buy it again. I plan to use it more in the coming months because I'm living in Hawaii until the summer of 2010 and want to explore the islands.
