Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I have been wearing REI Sahara pants for years and to date I still like the 05-06 design the best in comfort, style and color. I live in the west (AZ)and look for light colored clothing. Hiking the Canyon calls for loose fitting and light colors. Why was the style changed when it was perfect, this is big disappointment. PLEASE BRING BACK THE 05, 06 STYLE

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I have loved this pants, at least before the change in how they fit. I can still get into my 2005 Sahara pants just fine, but the new style is too small and I don't like the low rise cut. I have to wear one size up and even they are almost too tight, plus they are too long.
Why oh why did you try to fix what wasn't broken. I need room to move and like my pants loose and comfortable. We don't need high style, PLEASE.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I agree with a few of the other reviews that this is not sized correctly for petite women. I'm 5'2" with an inseam that is 29 inches. These are way too long. The two snaps located on the ankles are useless, they still end up dragging because you can't even roll them up so they will stay.
On the positive side, I really like the zippered pockets. I'm a photographer and it's nice to have pants with cargo pockets that you can actually put stuff in, lens caps, etc. Most womens' cargo/convertible pants have pockets that you can't even shove a small wallet into.
The only thing that keeps me from giving this 5 stars are the length and those useless snaps. Please bring back correct inseam and drawstring ankle closures.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I use these pants hiking, backpacking, riding mountain bike, going to gym, everything. They're durable and have lots of zipped pockets. The re design is terrible: the side zipped pockets are too small to hold a paper back book; there is no built in external belt; the "waist" hits between my hip bone and my belly button and therefore the pants fall down; the size 10s are too small in the crotch but fall down because they don't go to my waist; the size 12s are HUGE, require me to take in the waist about 2 inches (but then the crotch fits) and still require a belt to prevent them falling down. Please go back to last year's design, it worked well, why did you change it? Oh, I forgot: the size 12 petites are too long, they drag in the dirt. Unfortunately, my pairs of the old design are wearing out, and the new design (including the redesigned new design) is awful.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I'm 5'0" and normally can wear petite-sized pants without need for hemming. But the REI Sahara convertible pants are way too long. The "petite" size 6 I received has an inseam of 30 1/2 inches -- that's even longer than the length shown on the size chart for the Regular size 6! I will be returning these and will try another brand.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I hike a lot in a warm climate...the legs are too long for petite...please shorten them by an inch or 2. Also the size I usually wear is too big..too loose in the waist.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I must say, these lose this round. I have purchased these pants for hiking for several years, usually buying a new few pair each season. When I tried these on I was quite disappointed in the design, length, and size. The original design four years back won hands down. They fit in length, had the velcro closure at the bottom of the legs, had the belt and fit well in the hips and thighs and length. I wear petite. Please do not repeat this year's design! Change isn't always better.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I've worn a version of these REI pants for years and loved them. Unfortunately, the current version includes shorts that are several inches too long for a petite size. The length of the pants works for my 5'2" height, but when I remove the pant legs the shorts come to my knees. Please bring back your previous design where the shorts for petite sizes were a better fit.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
The pants - once you find the right size, feel nice. However it is very frustrating because the sizing is so far off. I took them in a size 2 sizes larger than I normally wear (I actually ended up returning the ones I ordered online and going to my local REI store to try the larger sizes.

Comments about REI Sahara Convertible Pants - Women's Petite:
I'm a very short 4'11" (short legs); I had to roll up the pants once, but they stayed up and they were super-comf. Definitely true to size and worth the money.
