The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
I use this product all the time while training for my triathlon race season. I've never had a problem with it giving me the wrong reading or anything. I've double checked it with my own reading, and it's head on. The watch and strap can be worn in the water, unlike the Garmin 405 (watch can't be in water), however, just like most other watches at this price range, the makers say that under the water, the watch won't show an accurate reading. I've only worn the heart rate monitor once in the water during my first triathlon, and I didn't get a chance to check if the heart rate reading seemed normal or not. The timer, chronograph, and review functions are great! They are so handy and easily used! I'm by no means a techie or ANYTHING. In fact I was worried I got a watch with too many bangs and whistles for me to figure out, but I got it working within 30 minutes. The review function is also great.
I do have trouble with remembering to start the chronograph, and without starting the chronograph, none of the information about your workout is saved. If I don't get a heart rate reading immediately, then I either put on a bit of lotion on the skin where the sensor touches, or I don't do anything and just wait until I sweat a bit (the HRM sensor needs a conducting fluid on the surface of your skin in order to get your HR). Some individuals on my team even lick the sensors. You don't really need any fancy expensive conducting gel.
Another issue I have is the alarm with the heart rate zones. I thought it would be great to have an alarm telling me when I'm in or out of my target zone. I always start the chronograph at the beginning of my workout, and my heart rate isn't up in zone 3/zone 4 yet and won't get there for about 5-10 minutes (depending on what I'm doing). So then frequently I'd have to keep touching my watch to turn the alarm off, which sounds often. So it was a real hassle when on my runs, and really I don't even use the alarm anymore. It's not hard to remember the zones for your heart rate. The watch comes with a useful packet that explains zone training too! And you can look at how long you were in your target zone in the review function after. So that is good enough for me.
The watch looks really nice and fits even though my wrist is fairly small. I have to use the second smallest hole. The strap is very long and is for a big range of wrist widths.
This watch is overall a great item. I've had it for about a month, and I haven't had any problems so far. It's got a great number of useful features, and has better features/reviews than other comparable HRMs from more popular companies.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
This was my first HR monitor and it is a great buy. It is very to use and accurate. I use it almost everyday and it has never had interference from another monitor. Although it doesn't have GPS, its a great deal for the price and all the functions it offers. I would recommend it for someone looking for a simple monitor to use at the gym or exercising outdoors.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
I swim on a Masters Swim Team and love the heart rate monitor and workout review including calaries burned. The watch works great in the pool as long as the battery is changed now and then. The watch really helps me work harder and pick up the pace if my heart rate isn't where I would like to see it. It is especially helpful when I am training by myself. It is like having a coach on my wrist.
My watch band broke after about 6 months and I took it back to REI who replaced it happily for free. I love my watch!

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
I have been using HR monitors of some shape/size for over 15 years. I initially bought this Timex HR monitor because I *finally* found a cute HR monitor for women. I thought it had a lot of promise since it had all of the features that I wanted (i.e. stopwatch, timer, backlight, calories, HR monitor, etc…) but after I had it no less than 8 months, I started seeing some problems. Like the timer button sticking, the mode button became really hard to press so you could never change the mode button with gloves on (even tight gloves), and I even noticed condensation inside the watch after I showered with the watch. REI is wonderful and let me return the watch, but I would not recommend this watch. Overall, I was really disappointed with this HR monitor, and even more disappointed that I have to start looking again for another one.

EZ to use for basic heart rate. Watch is small-wearability is good. Chest strap-comfortable. Watch battery needed to be replaced within 5 months of my receiving it, and watch strap broke (up near face of watch) after about 6 months. I have a Timex Ironman watch (not HRM) for years which works better than this HRM.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
I decided to buy a heart rate monitor because I like to work out hard but if I let my heart rate get too high, I get a migraine. I just want to track my heart rate while working out and don't care about record keeping, etc. This monitor was easy for me to learn to use, possibly because I already have an Ironman watch. It seems accurate and I never have trouble getting a reading. The chest band and watch are comfortable to wear. The display is a little hard to read with my almost-50-year-old eyes. You can set it to give an audible alert if your heart rate is outside the heart rate zone you choose. It would be nice to be able to enable alerts for above zone and below zone separately.

Comments about Timex Ironman Road Trainer Heart Rate Monitor - Women's:
This watch came very quickly and it was my first heart rate monitor. My sister who is a personal trainer has raved for years over hers. I finally got one and don't remember how I ever exercised without it! Love the heart rate zone function,avg/min/max hr, and the review button!! The only complaint I have is that my wrist band broke in about 6 months and was not covered by warranty. Other than that, LOVE LOVE LOVE! [...] I was pretty bummed it wasn't covered by my warranty. I always hold you to higher standards which is why I always love coming back.
