I've had two or three of this style of hat and have liked them all. This one, I like a lot. All the quibbles I had with the other hats are fixed in this one. The brim - stiff enough to stand up and protect your face - even in wind - but not so stiff as to keep flopping in your face or worry about it being crushed when packed. The side vents work well and overall it is a very cool hat. The external drawcord for size adjustment is very helpful. I have used this hat while mowing lawn, walks, school outings and will use it while fishing down in Florida. Maybe then, I'll see if it floats. But, with the chin cord, probably not. Watch the sizeing - it may be a bit big.

I'll say more later. I've only had this a day, but love the style, the comfort, and the fit. The key piece for me in this hat is that the brim is moderately stiff and will hold up in the wind.

Hat does what I bought it to do! Being(almost) bald I needed a GREAT sun hat for Fishing,Hiking, anything outdoors. This hat does all that with"style" Vents well and fits TRUE TO SIZE!So far so good :)

Great sun hat!!! Love it. I have worn it for 1 year. Went on long hikes like Haft Dome, Mt Baldy, St Jacinto etc. Works great in hot weather. I picked it because that it comes in XL with ventilation, but everything else exceeded my expectation. The size is adjustable in case you need to fine tune the fit. The band that touches your head is very comfortable, even when you sweat a lot. The hat is able to stay on your head in moderate wing even without using the strap! Soft, can stuff it anywhere. If I have to be picky, I wish the sizing is a little larger, XL is still slightly too small for me. I wish there is a easy way to put away the neck strap since I don't use it. The cotton fabric will soak up rain and dries slow. Haven't test it to see if actually floats as claimed. Even so, I like it so much that I am planning to get a 2nd, and one for my son!

I've only worn the hat on one hike so far but it did it's intended job well. Very hot day, no available shade and the hat protected my face, head and neck and the ventilation was great. At the bottom of the trail, there was a light blustery wind and the brim surprisingly kept it's shape pretty well though I think it would flop in a stronger gale. For it's intended purpose, this thing is going everywhere with me.
