The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
I'll preface by saying I'm not into sweets (french fries please!) and can't stand gooey textures... I can barely stomach Jell-O. So I was extremely hesitant to try this, but I got a sample of the Roctane at an expo before my last race and I'll tell you it is amazing stuff.
I could barely stomach the regular GU, even with the more tart flavor, but the Roctane is fine. It has more of a pasty texture than the other stuff, almost like ground fruit roll ups or something. I probably will not try the vanilla one but it's more of my personal taste. The pomegranate/blueberry has a good taste, even when you're super exhausted mid-run.
The best part is the great boost it gives you. I've tried a lot of other products - "normal" GU included - but the Roctane is a much more powerful energy boost.
It's expensive so I stick to cheaper alternatives for sub 90 minute runs, but if I'm out on race day, or planning to run beyond 2 hours it's definitely along with me.

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
Wow! I have tried every energy product on the market and this is the one for me every time. I especially like blueberry and that is a flavor that is rare on the energy market. I do not know all the scientific aspects, but it works well for me on long triathlons, trainings and when doing some tough backpacks.

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
Today was the first time I used the Roctane version of GU. I have previously used the normal version. I took the Roctane about 10 minutes before I went on a 10.5 mile run, it kept me feeling fresh, and I felt like I had an extra little sumthin' sumthin' in me towards the end of the run when I am usually exhausted. The only issue is that this product tasted alot worse than the other gel that I have used. But it's not as if we take this stuff for the taste anyways, right? The price is a bit more expensive than the other products but just wait until REI has them on sale to buy them, and you should be ok.

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
I had always been a fan of tri-berry regular gu, and of clif shots and clif blocks. I never saw the need to spend 2x as much on this roctane version.
On some of my longer runs that take over 3-4 hours I would get hungry and need something beyond just gel, I needed to chew on something so I became a fan of the chews.
Well, during one 50 mile trail race, I started to bonk right around mile 35. I had been eating chews up to that point, and clif shots, but they both seemed too sweet and my stomach just did not agree with them.
My dad, who was crewing for me, had bought some of the roctane's, and he put one in my pack. I got it out, ate it, and noticed that it seemed to taste good to me even though nothing else seemed palatable at that point. Also, within no more than 5 minutes, I felt markedly better. My stomach settled, my energy returned, and I felt good. I was surprised that it made that much of a difference.
I have since learned that it was perhaps the inclusion of the extra sodium along with the BCAA's that most likely did it.
Any run longer than 3 hours and it is my gel of choice. I would take it on my two hour runs, but it is just too expensive and the benefits dont seem to be as noticeable until I really crank up the time.

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
I'm a casual long distance runner, about 1-2 races per year, with no time for running 30-40 miles per week to prepare for them, and always on lookout for things that can make running easier or just less painful. I'm usually have getorade and regular gel (gu) with me on a long run but wnen I have a low energy day or just on a run that far exceeds my level of endurance at that point it doesn't help much. Then I learned about roctane gu. Guy in the running store told me that he (young fellow in his twenties) doesn't see much difference with a regular gu, maybe for runs over 2-3 hours. Seems like he is running his marathons in this range but not me... So I got one to try on my first 8-miler of the year, on my low energy day. Got regular gu-gel before run and off to the park. After about 4 miles my body started to betray me, legs getting heavy and muscle cramps just around the corner. Perfect time to try turbo go (aka roctane)! In a minute or two I felt like I am back to business, legs moving easily, head is clear. It lasted for about 30 min but then I was finishing my run. I bet that if not for the roctane I would be suffering until the end. Tried it again when on 11+miler after first 7 miles (better day) and it took me to the end, with even enough energy to switch up a gear during the last mile. I still got sore legs and crumps but after I've already finished. Maybe I needed another shot of this afterwards but for [$] per pop I can walk it off:) So now I'm having one of these for each long run and a couple (or 3) for a half-marathon race, can they get me my PR?! Great product, can it be a bit cheaper?

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
The new flavors are fantastic. Getting anything down at altitude is difficult on a good day, and the new GU flavors make it much easier. If possible, the product itself seems to give a better boost than ever. Great new line of products GU, thanks!

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
Easily the best energy gel on the market. The consistency is great, not as thick as some energy gels and the vanilla/orange flavor is great. Many other gels cause me stomach upset and this one does not.
The packaging is small and convenient, this is a great product for long runs (over 60 minutes) and for races. It is the ONLY gel I will use during long-distance runs, races and triathlons.

I normally use Hammer gels but I figured I'd give this a shot in my next race. It surpassed my expectations. I didn't hit a wall like a normally do.

Pedaled 150 miles this past Saturday, using Roctane every 45 minutes. It provided a noticeable boost, and I'm really convinced it helped me through the ultra-endurance event.

Comments about GU Roctane Sports Gel:
I like to do long distance hikes (5-15 hrs.) This product is a HUGE boost. It nearly instantly makes me feel much better and lets me pick up the pace a bit. There's a noticeable difference (for the better) compared to regular GU gel, hammer gel, or Clif gel products - all of which I use too. It's a great add to other snacks I carry. I like to have one of these every 3 or 4 times I eat something on big distance hikes.
On the cons - this stuff is pretty tough on my stomach. It's fine in the first five or so hours but if you've been hiking hard for 10 hrs, this stuff can cause my stomach to be upset and contribute to acid reflux. I have a fairly delicate stomach that can't handle a lot of acid. So, if you have a cast iron stomach you probably will be fine. If you can't drink OJ or a lot of citris like me - this could be a hard one to use very much of.
Also, the flavors are also little too strong and wish they had something milder. I also wish they had more non-caffeinated choices. But, I use it anyway because it works so well. I'm wondering if they have to make the flavors so strong to cover-up the actual taste. Not sure. FYI - The new flavor Cherry Lime is truly AWEFUL!!! It's like really bad cough syrup from my youth. LOL! The pomegranate one is the mildest but is caffeinated which I like to stay away from when I'm eating some sort of energy booster once an hour or so.
