Comments about Reliance Jumbo-Tainer Water Container - 7 gal.:

I own two of these containers and 1 of Reliance's Aquatainer designs. All have the same lid equipped with spigot and the same poor design. The housing for the spigot needs to be reinforced to prevent splitting with use. Of the three cans I own, 2 have split and the lids no longer hold water. One, I did overtighten, but the other split simply because I use it frequently.

Long story short, these are good containers for storing water, but don't buy them for the spigot unless you plan to replace them frequently.

Comments about Reliance Jumbo-Tainer Water Container - 7 gal.:

Based on my favorable experiences with the Aquatainer, I bought one of these Jumbos. Used it to refill my popup camper water tank when I'm not hooked up to water.

Like it's slim design because I can strap it to my rear bumber. The handle placement makes it much easier to pour compared to the Aquatainers. Hasn't developed leaks yet as other posters have mentioned, but I do only use it several times/yr.

As to the spout and spigot leaks, this is an easily solved problem for both the Aquatainers and Jumbotainers. Wrap the threads 3x with plumbers' teflon tape and the leaks stop. This little trick also allows you to keep the spigot properly positioned.

I used this to store water in my truck for backcountry car camping. After two trips out it started leaking. I'm not sure if I had a defective unit but I wouldn't recommend this product.

Comments about Reliance Jumbo-Tainer Water Container - 7 gal.:

I bought this to replace a Reliance Aqua-Trainer I had for many years, whose lid finally gave out. This worked well enough for 5-6 trips, but ultimately sprung a leak on one of the lower corners. It would appear the plastic is thin to save on weight or perhaps material costs, but they skimped a tad too much on this one and sacrificed durability.

Leaks from the spout, whether it's extended for use or hidden in the jug. I bought two of these and both leaked in the same spot. One of them also leaked from the air plug in the back. I had to push it in extra hard to get it to stop leaking. Haven't taken them anywhere yet. Leaking from the spout is only an issue when you tip the jug on its side.

Comments about Reliance Jumbo-Tainer Water Container - 7 gal.:

I have one of these I purchased years ago, and recently bought another at REI. It works very well in a Jeep ... it's as if it were designed specifically for them. It fits perfectly in the back seat foot-well.

The only downside so far is that after a while the cap (with the spout) wouldn't turn all the way when attaching it, so the spigot points to the side. It's a little inconvenient, but it still works.

Comments about Reliance Jumbo-Tainer Water Container - 7 gal.:

I planned to use these containers for water storage and car camping. They can only effectively serve the latter function. I have had three of them, and only one functions without a leak. The spigot idea, while clever, is simply not watertight. The leaks are very slow and so acceptable for camping, but make it impossible to use for storage.

Comments about Reliance Jumbo-Tainer Water Container - 7 gal.:

at first i was enamored with the container(s), after several long hunting/camping trips in varying temps i understood what it's best for. car camping and gentle use. the spout is succeptible to breaking, both from tightening and from shearing, broken three already. the container leaks from the vent hole, even with the plug installed. eventually all of mine developed cracks/leaks in the bottom(s). the trailer would be soaked before i made it half way out of town.

could be from freezing temps, could be from heavy use, could be from poor casting. don't know.

that being all said, i'm about to buy a few more. for the price if they last 2 years i'm satisfied that i got money's worth. just be aware of it's limitations.

I can't believe I ever camped without this!
It takes up very little space in my trunk area, because of the way it was designed. Easy to lift, because of the two seperate grips.

I waste very little water washing hands and dishes due to the spigot.

*I also love the fact that the spigot can be turned into the container when in transit (something not shown in the picture) this way you don't have to worry about damaging it.
