Comments about Smith Skullcandy Bluetooth Wireless Audio Kit:
Sound quality was poor. Works in mono only with Bluetooth. When using phone (blackberry) voice was inaudible to other caller. Forward and back buttons don't work with paired iPod

Comments about Smith Skullcandy Bluetooth Wireless Audio Kit:
I have found this device to be useful for communicating with friends and family while skiing. Although some traditionalists will debate the necessity of such devices while recreating, the fact is that smart phones have changed the way we communicate and interact. This bluetooth headset makes it possible for me to listen to music on the lift ride and take calls from missing/late/slow ski buddies without stopping or even de-gloving in cold weather. This is an especially appealing feature on a powder day in the Wasatch. Once you become familiar with the controls, you can take calls, voice dial, adjust volume, play, pause, and track up/down with one hand using easy-to-find buttons and stay warm doing it. No more fumbling in pockets for your phone or risking dropping a $300 phone off a chairlift. No more wires flapping in the wind or getting stuck in zippers, either. You can switch between incoming calls and music at the touch of a button and the interface with my iPhone 4 works perfectly. On the downside, sound quality is not great, which is a characteristic common to all bluetooth headphones with the current technology. I often get complaints that my voice is difficult to hear during phone calls, which may be because of wind or clothing near the microphone pickup. The earpieces are bulky and have a few minor pressure points because of the embedded speakers. The [$] price tag is high for what you are getting, and Skull Candy/Smith would probably sell this product to everyone who owns a ski helmet if the price was more reasonable. The bottom line is that at [$], this is a luxury or a great gift for the tech-oriented skier/snowboarder on your list but not an absolute must-have item. Great for keeping you skiing with tunes and staying in touch with friends/family-if you can handle the price tag. Having owned and used it for almost a year now, it would be hard for me to go without it in the future. As with all electronics, I am sure quality will increase and price will decrease in the future, and it may be worth waiting for improvements before buying. I expect that most helmets will have this type of setup in the next few years.

Comments about Smith Skullcandy Bluetooth Wireless Audio Kit:
Poor fit, straps interfere with product causing earflaps to unsnap from helmet. POOR DESIGN. Controls are difficult to use with mittens, but in defense, it does say gloves. More thought could have been placed in design. Poor pairing back and forth between, phones, computers, etc...
