I needed some leg warmers since I commute to work everyday and wouldn't have time to wash my bike pants daily. I saw these on rei outlet for such a good price and even though they are a size XL (I wear women's Small in bike shorts)I got them anyway. I am so, so glad. I wear these every day. These are so warm and stay on without slipping down. I wear them over my bike shorts and the elastic top is at my crotch but they are not tight but firm enough to stay up. The zippered bottom keeps it snug against my ankles. I probably could have used a Large but I'm glad I didn't try to buy them in small or medium because I doubt them would have fit. I do have to admit, even though my hips are small I have large bicycling thighs and calves so maybe that's why the XL fits so well.
