Comments about Little Bear Cub Snowshoes - Boys':
I bought these for my 3 year-old son so I wouldn't have to tow him in a sled. Of course, we just mosey when he's along, but he has a great time.
Before I bought these I read reviews for other toddler-age snowshoes and was concerned with traction and the width of any snowshoe being too great for his gait. These seemed narrower than some other choices and that persuaded me.
My boy did great in these. He could really cruise on groomed trails. On a deeper snow layer with a bit of a crust, he was fine too, but a bit slower. In powder he would have had a tough time. On steeper inclines he wasn't great either, but that's a combination of him and the shoes.
In my estimation, if you're looking for some robust kid snowshoe for a toddler, you'll probably have to look for a long time. (Personally, I don't want my 3 year-old anywhere near a crampon yet.) If, instead, you're looking for something that will get your kid enjoying the snow tramping around on groomed or well-used trails or playing in the yard, these should do great. Hold the kid's hand on a hill, though, because the traction, although decent, isn't made for hills.
The buckles can be tough to adjust while on, but are easily adjustable while off. The straps on the buckle bindings seem a bit long, but in two years maybe they'll be just right. For now, I can just tuck them in. My happy toddler highly recommends these.
