Comments about Atlas 923 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:
I first used these at Jay Cooke State Park which had more than a foot of snow and some packed trails. No matter where I snowshoed, the shoes acted like a snow thrower, flipping up snow at my legs, my back and my head. At greater depths snow was flying over my head. It seems like the design causes the shoes to scoop up the snow and hurl it upwards. It was really aggravating. I returned them and opted for a pair of less expensive Tubbs. One thing I do like about the Atlas is the bindings which were really easy to deal with. However, being pelted with snow for hours far outweighed any benefit of well designed bindings.

Comments about Atlas 923 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:
No! Don’t buy Atlas. Your backside will get frozen and it’s not only annoying, it’s dangerous. At first I thought it was the way I walked - how the shoes threw so much snow up my backside; I tried walking different ways and still my legs, butt and back were pelted with snow all the same. So I went looking for answers and was shocked to find Atlas’ website claims it is part of their “unique design,” and that flipping snow up may stop when they are “broken in.” This is my second season in these shoes and they are still throwing snow. So, how is this dangerous? Because your body heat melts the snow and your clothes become wet and frigid – think hypothermia if you stop moving!

Comments about Atlas 923 Elektra Snowshoes - Women's:
I purchased two pairs of these for Christmas for myself and a friend. We used them on New Years day in Rocky Mountain National Park in moderate snow... and by the time we had gone one mile, our backs and everything on them - packs, jackets, everything - was covered in snow! I'm returning them for a pair that doesn't act like a rocket launcher - we were throwing snow over our heads and onto each other! I'm getting Tubbs instead.
