Comments about Scott 540 Ski Poles:
Haven't used 'em yet. But I can tell you they are gonna be fine, and then some. Sure there are more expensive, but why? Scott has always made fine poles. Just depends on your dollar allowance.
I'm 60 and gonna use 'em to support a wasted L knee and have fun "skiing" with the upper body as I hike up and down canons here in the SW. A pair of guaranteed (?) no slipping (?) adjustable trekking poles might well be better to adjust uphill and downhill and according to traverses, but hey: I figure I'll slide my hand down as I go up and that's good enough for me. I bought em a bit long because the DHs are where you need more support for the knees.
I've been an instructor in Bflo and Wy and patrolled WY and MT so I know, and sillily figure, I deserve good stuff. Plus these look cool. I was enthralled with a pair of better ones on sale at the store at the end of ski season, but they have been sent back.
Peace and DH!
