Comments about Madshus Lillehammer MGV Skis with NIS:

I bought a pair of these for myself and my wife. We are primarily alpine skiers but wanted nordic gear to tour local parks. We have had a great winter breaking trail and even using them through our neighborhood when the snow is deep enough. We paired them with Alpina nnn bc auto bindings and Alpina 1550 BC boots, all purchased through REI. If you are looking for a do everything ski, these go anywhere. If they were available with metal edges, they would be the perfect ski for my needs. As they are, they come really close and have provided many hours and many miles of enjoyment for my wife and I.

Comments about Madshus Lillehammer MGV Skis with NIS:

Great for groomed tracks. These are narrow skis, so don't float well in untracked snow. Good grip for a double cambered ski. These don't turn as well as wider skis with more sidecut. Skate turns work best. Great for covering a lot of miles on gentle/flat terrain. There are better skis for exploring the untracked. Good kick and glide for a modest price.

Comments about Madshus Lillehammer MGV Skis with NIS:

Excellent value for the casual user. I ski in the mid-Atlantic states and the MGV base is excellent for our changeable, refrozen snow. If you get out 5-6 times a winter in local parks, golf courses, and touring centers, this is your ski. I apply liquid glide wax but (shhh) it's not mandatory. Fun ski.

Comments about Madshus Lillehammer MGV Skis with NIS:

I've had these skis for about a year and have used them for both winter and spring skiing. I bought them for day touring, for which they perform well. They are a beginner ski - lots of grip but at the expense of glide. From what I understand, the base is not sintered, so wax doesn't hold well. If you are willing to wax after every outing (and you're supposed to, although I'm sure a lot of people don't) they'll work fine. Overall I'm satisfied with them, although like most things, you get what you pay for. If I were asked, I would recommend paying a bit more and stepping up a level in quality. I have other Madshus skis and am very happy with them.

        Service and delivery comments:

I ordered these skis, which were delivered to the local REI. Service, as always, was top notch.
