Comments about Saucony ProGrid Xodus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I have been looking for a shoe that does not have a big squishy heel and is so rigid that it does not bend easily at the fore foot. When I put this shoe on it felt perfect. I had the Speedcross 2 on one foot and the xodus the other. The xodus is lower in the heel and not nearly as squishy. I am a mid-foot striker and this shoe works great for that. The fore foot has very firm cushion that lets your foot sense the terrain instead of completely muting it out.I have found in other shoes the more cushioning and more rigid the fore foot the control and stability usually suffers. The heel is firm and if you are a heel striker and like the pillow style heel this shoe wont be it. The build quality is some of the best I have seen and I don't have to worry about the laces like some shoes I have had. Plenty of good airflow makes for a comfy ride. I wouldn't go dancing through rivers and expect a dry foot, but the toe is well protected and repels water. The sides are mesh and the heel is well protected also. The sole has great traction and is at home anywhere on the trail.
To sum it up this shoe is the best trail runner I have tried yet. Light weight, nimble, and firm cushioning combined with a low heel makes this shoe unmatched. My first pair of Saucony's and they won't be my last.

Comments about Saucony ProGrid Xodus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I never had Saucony before, but this shoes do smooth ride. Fairly good traction at trails, but Brooks spike-like design is far superior traction at uphill, downhill, and switchback turns. The heel cushion works good and better softness than Brooks ASR-5 or Cascadia especially on downhill. The heel to toe transition is good and smooth ride; thanks to the arch lock system. This shoes are ideal for neutral to slightly pronator with mid arch. I have a mid to high arch but use Sole custom mold sockliner to have extra arch support.
Three complains/suggestions I have now are: 1) slightly narrow toe box that my pinky toe would have small hot spot (Brooks has better width on size D), 2) wide heel collar that my foot slide slightly, and 3) slightly weak traction on side move like downhill swithback turn that the shoe suddenly slide a little bit. The rounded heel does not affect me at all, but some people may not like it particularly who have a over pronation.

Comments about Saucony ProGrid Xodus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
This is a neutral shoe that is light but has great traction for the trail. Very comfy with the stock insole. I love this Vibram sole. My only complaint is the heel cup. The heel tends to rise on steep ascents...but can be somewhat corrected with different lacing.

Comments about Saucony ProGrid Xodus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
Really was excited to get this shoe. It was really comfortable to wear and still is, but it's not the right shoe for me. It feels loose in the heel, but to tight when you use the heel lacing. I found that on uneven terrain it was a little unstable and I had a tendency to turn my ankle. Good for level trails. Has promise with a few updates. Be interesting to see if they can improve it. Love the loop for the gaiter and the pouch to tuck the laces in. As for now I will stick with my Brooks Adrenaline GTS.
