Comments about Nordica Sportmachine 10 CX Ski Boots - Men's:

First the ONLY reason these didn't get 5 stars is that they have to be heat formed with special equipment by a dealer. You can't put them in an oven and do it yourself. Not many dealers have a sense of humor about working on equipment purchased elsewhere. Now for the good news. They don't NEED to be heat formed, as heat forming is optional. I wore them around the house a couple hours (bachelor)to start breaking them in the night before I went skiing, and by the time I took them off, they were nearly as comfortable as my 4 year old boots, minus being packed out.
I didn't know what to expect from the NFS, but it wasn't much different than getting used to any other equipment change. It was a much more subtle change in feel than I expected. I was also afraid the flex level might be on the soft side for someone over 220. It wasn't at all. The support was fantastic. I could even back down from the stiffest setting.
I had no idea that a change in boots could up your game that much. I loved my Hotrod Nitrous skis already, but had no idea how much more they were capable of. The first run was mind blowing. I took a run that usually bucks you around and keeps your speed in check. I was suddenly Bode Miller. It was like adding power steering and high performance suspension. Getting on edge and staying there was almost effortless. I was carving like never before. It was like being on rails. For the price I don't think you can do any better.
