This is my 4th pair, the 3rd pair being returned for squeaking. Unfortunately the sizing is strange and the left one falls off my foot while the right fits properly. I will need to return them and try again or get a different style or brand. I think being mfg. in China may have something to do with the irregularities.

I bought my fourth pair of Danskos today, and am so disappointed I am writing my first review. I have worn almost nothing but Danskos for four years now, and went to REI today to buy a new pair for my last term of nursing school. The first pair I tried on fit perfectly on the right foot, but was tight across the top of the left foot. I asked for a second pair, which was the last in my size. That pair fit perfectly on the left but was a tad snug on the right. I would have mixed and matched them since according to the box they were the same style and color, but in reality the two pairs would not have matched each other at all. The second pair was considerably darker and shinier, so I bought them hoping the snug one would loosen up. I am sitting here writing this with a sore top of my foot and plans to return the shoes. SO disappointing that the quality of Danskos has gone down hill. They used to fit very consistently, never the variation between shoes within a pair!

Most of my shoes are Danskos, but this pair proves once again the problem with Danskos overall is that it's so difficult to find a pair that fits. Size 38 means something different for every shoe, even shoes of the same style! I'm about to give up on Danskos all together. It's too hard to find the "right" shoe. The pro clogs I purchased felt good in the store, but a week later were a half to full size too large.

I purchased a pair of these a few years back because my old Dansko clogs were so awesome. The new ones I got were terrible. I knew they were supposed to be loose on your foot, so I kept them thinking they fit. I almost tripped and fell several times and lost the shoe a few times too!

REI rocked when I returned them pretty much brand new. I found out that Sanita used to make those fabulous clogs for Dansko until 2007 but now Dansko has their clogs made in China. Sanita still makes their clogs by hand in Europe. That's why other reviewers have been as disappointed in their new Danskos as I was.

I had heard wonders about the comfort of the shoe. I agree, with one exception. When I walk on surfaces that are not mostly flat and have imperfections my ankles tend to roll easily in the shoe. I mentioned this to a few friends and they said this happens to them as well. Again I wish I had known this, because comfort without the rolling of ankles is ideal.

LOVE danskos. i own a pair in the patent leather black, after returning these ones. was sad to have to return them because i loved the color, it was what first attracted me to the shoe. after wearing them the next day, i realized they scuffed way too easily. i had crossed one foot over the other and it changed a completely different (and bright) color which was very noticeable. even just a little contact with anything would scuff it. i wasn't aware it would do this when i bought them so it caught me off guard and when i returned them the lady said cabrio was the ones that did that and nothing else would scuff.

I love my Danskos. I highly recommend them to anyone that has to be standing up all day long. They're fantastic for wearing everyday, all day, rain or shine. I've worn them to work, on walks, and on trips where I had to do lots of walking. They're great for traveling too - for walking through airports and sitting on the plane. I used to come home from work with aching feet and legs, due to poorly supporting shoes and bunions. After I started wearing the Danskos my feet and legs didn't hurt anymore, even after standing and walking all day. My only complaint is that after about 3 months of wear, the left shoe started squeaking on hard surfaces (wood, tile, etc). After about 1 month of the squeaking, I took them back to REI and exchanged them for a new pair[...]So far I haven't had any issues with squeaking.

These are fantastic, at first. I wear my clogs constantly with everything. My knees love them and they help with leg and lower back fatigue. I even wear them in light rain and snow in the city. For shoe seaches at the airport, nothing comes off faster. BUT I am sad, my last pair of the exact model went 5 years (I still keep them for kick around old shoes) and these are showing a lot of wear at 1 year. I used the last pair just as hard. I wish Dansko hadn't switched manufacturing locations. They just aren't the same shoes. If the last pair hadn't been so great and so long wearing I would probably be more satifisfied with these, but it feels like the value isn't the same. I will start shopping other brands to see if I can pay less for similar quality.

These are officially my favorite shoes ever! I am a past sufferer of plantar fasciitis so I stick to comfort over fashion these days. My feet never hurt in these shoes no matter where or how much I walk. I bought the grey color and I think they look great with jeans and khakis. My only (minor) complaint is it seems the grey color is "rubbing" off where the leather is stapled to the footbed b/c my pant legs rub there. I'm not sure if polishing them would darken the area to original color. I'm sure it's only noticable to me. Oh, and unlike the other posters, I didn't require a break in period at all; comfy on the first day. I do have very high arches so I suppose that could have helped. Another bonus, I hate socks so I never wear them and my feet/these shoes do not get stinky. Your feet will thank you for buying these gems!
