Comments about adidas Supernova Riot Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
These shoes are the perfect balance of light weight, traction, comfort, support and overall trail feel. The Riot is the update to the Supernova Trail 5 and improves on its predecessor in at least two ways: The medial post is less rigid in that it relies more on supportive foam and less on the hard plastic post found in the Trail 5. As a result, the shoe is equally supportive but more comfortable and feels less narrow in the arch. (Some users of the Trial 5 complained about blisters in the arch, but this problem should be eliminated with the Riot, as it was for me.) The other significant improvement is more padding in the tongue. Like the Trail 5, the Supernova has a split heal that increases traction when running downhill and increases cushioning. The soles have a great tread that generates confidence and helps keep your feet in place when blasting up hills. Overall, the Riot is the best trail running shoe I’ve owned. I hope Adidas resists any temptation to modify this shoe just for the sack of change.

Comments about adidas Supernova Riot Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I went in to the store looking for the former trail shoe that won some awards, and ended up walking out with these at the beginning of the year. It was a much better fit for me; I wear the Supernova road shoes as well (going on my fourth pair in two years). I most enjoy the lighter weight, roomy toebox and the breathability. They were awesome for warm weather - one downside is that it is a two or three season shoe; my feet get pretty wet in winter trail running now around SEAtown. I have put several hundred miles on them and they are still going strong. I even have used them for road running, although they are stiff for that use. The biggest con is that I overpronate a bit, and my heel slides in and the shoe supports the lateral movement less well than some other trail shoes I have had, like Vasque. I would not mind a bit more weight added to stabilize the sideways movement that comes with trail running. Too, I am a 9.5, and I always sport the 10 in adidas (maybe just in the Supernova).

Comments about adidas Supernova Riot Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I've only put about 15 miles of good trail running on these shoes but thought I'd go ahead and put my initial experience on here. So far, a great shoe that does what I need it to do. Majority of runs are on "forest trails" with a good mix of grass, softer dirt, plenty of roots/rocks/tree stumps and logs in the way, also run a bit on pavement. Shoes were perfect right out of the box, plenty of traction in the dirt and wet grass, plenty of traction going over fallen trees and small uphill climbs. Feet WILL get wet even running through damp grass but a good pair of thin wool socks will make it acceptable. I'm 6' 220 lbs so we'll see how this softer shoe will hold up, but so far it gives plenty of support and better ground feel than the heavy motion control shoes I started out with.
Laces are great, they stay tight and their shape/material make it easy to tighten the shoe to the perfect fit. Normally wear 12.5 in running shoes...the 13's fit better with this shoe.
