So we got this pack (size small) for our 37lbs Nova Scotian Duck Toller to come hiking/backpacking with us. We've only done some around the block walks so far to test for fit. Her chest size is 23 inches and the chest strap fits well. However the neck straps seem a bit too big. We currently have them cinched down all the way but they seem about an inch or two too long. But I don't think we can get any smaller of a pack because then the chest strap wont fit. I do believe that Nova Scotian Duck Tollers have "deeper" chests than other breeds so perhaps this is only an issue with "deep chested" breeds.
Other than that the pack looks great! It seems to be comfortable and she is quickly coming accustom to it. Also the size of the pockets seem more than adequate even for multi-day hikes.
I can't wait to get out and use it for real!
A must have. Especially at this price from this company and this retailer.

I'm using this backpack on my 13-month old 15" Beagle. I only put it on before doing something fun and so far he has seemed to not mind it.
I went on one hike where I put some tangerines in the backpack. It was in an off-leash dog park. While going up a hill, he went in a straight line as if he was in a working mode.

I bought this pack for my thin Siberian Husky, and it works well. I went through a few packs that were too wide over the top or had useless straps that dangled. This pack fits well with two straps under the chest and one between the front legs. It gets dragged on rocks and trees, but no noticeable wear after two weeks.
Enough space for two Nalgenes, pound of food, waste bags and leash.
The one drawback is that the bags need to be weighted evenly or they will sag to one side. Not a huge deal for the light weight, which is a plus. Semi-water shedding- rubber zippers would be nice, but they need to save some features for the expensive packs. Overall a pack I would recommend.
